New Year's Resolution Ideas

It's that time of the year again. A year has passed and a new year is coming! It's time to make some new year RESOLUTIONS!

Maybe you're running out of ideas to keep yourself occupied with or you just want to look into new things. Whatever it is, I'm here to help!

I'm not the kind to write resolutions because I probably won't do them anyway :P BUT if it helps you them I'm here to give you ideas that I would put in my list!



1. Recycle that old list

Yeah let's be honest - we're not perfect. Sometimes we fail! If you have anything from your old list of resolutions, bring it with you to the next year! Just put more emphasis on it so you won't fail again.


2. Work that body

Have you ever looked in the mirror and thought you should lose some weight? Or to the guys maybe you want to get ripped and muscular to attract some eyes the next time you go to the beach? Exercise should be on the list then! It doesn't have to be you hitting the gym 3 times a week (though that would be wonderful), you can start from simple things like walking up the stairs instead of using the lift, riding a bike in the evening or starting the day with a morning jog. For people with strong determination, hit the gym! It's okay if you're not sure where to start, just go to http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/workout.htm. 3. Get rid of a bad habit


Do you have a bad habit you want to get rid of? Maybe it's an addiction, like smoking, or just a silly habit like picking your nose. Whatever it is, you should put that in your list of resolutions! I know, it's really hard to get rid of old habits ('Old habits die hard!' - Wise Zeeway), so you can start by doing little things. If you're a regular smoker, try cutting down the frequency you smoke by maybe buying only one packet a month. Take it slow and easy and that habit will die down before the year ends :) If all else fails, try seeking medical attention (not for your nose picking problem!) and I'm sure it can be done. It's all about willpower!



4. Eating healthy

Been eating out too much the past year? Try changing your routine and eat home-cooked food more often! Cooking for yourself not only gives you enormous health benefits (Effects of Eating Out on Nutrition and Body Weight) but is also a great deal of fun. 5. Go out of your comfort zone



Saw a girl you think is really cute but didn't have the guts to talk to her? Thrown into a new environment but too shy to make friends? Be brave and voice out! It's not that hard to make small talk with new strangers right? (Oh you're having trouble with that? Here's a link for you!) Try to set a goal that you can visualize like maybe make a new friend each month. Being a socially awkward person, I know how that feels. I guess we just have to remember that it can't be that bad. It's not like a 5 minute small talk will make others hate you forever! :)

6. Take up a new hobby

We all have this secret desire to take up a hobby but we're too shy to (Confession: mine is dancing). Screw that! It's time to change! If you wanna learn a new musical instrument, go for it! If you wanna be a ballet dancer (even if you're a guy), just do it! A hobby can be lots of fun and who knows, you might have a hidden talent in it! Don't be afraid to try new things because we'll never know how amazing it might turn out!
